sustainable agriculture: local farm grants

Central Texas Specialty Growers was awarded $10,000 to install a rain water catchment system. This innovative resource conservation project will cut 70% of the water drawn from their local watershed.

 

Poche Family Farms was awarded $5,000 to build a high tunnel. This sustainable agriculture project will allow for extended productions seasons, decreased pesticide usage and improved cover cropping.

 

Sage Farms was awarded $5,000 to expand its aeroponic greenhouse. This eco-production project will allow for expanded crop production and the ability to meet local market demands.
